Girls on the Run
Girls on the Run Logo
This is a national program, with local chapters, that uses running as the foundation for helping girls from ages 8 to 13 develop a healthier lifestyle, greater self-respect and a more positive attitude toward life. GOTR is a 12 week, after school program that meets one hour twice a week.

Participants in the GOTR program actually train for and participate in a 5K (3.1-mile) running event. But along the way (and most important), they also learn key lessons about life. In fact, running the 5K event isn't even required, girls can hop, skip or dance their way to the finish line!
